Even the crappy quality of the photo manages to convey how delicious this meal was, for all its simplicity. Mature cheddar polenta topped with some extra virgin olive oil and marjoram, with a nice 2006 garganega. It's such a basic dish, but it is so satisfying when done correctly. I think it reminds you that when you master the basics, elegance follows.
Absolutely nothing compares to listening to music with a pair of cans. These are comparatively low-end, £15 Sony's from HMV, but the difference in sound quality is legion. If you listen to vinyl, you understand why; but even if you're firmly entrenched in digital media (like I am at the moment) the difference between a 90 kbps and 320 kbps is totally evident.
In short: I am in love.
Yeah, this isn't going to be a permanent home for me. It's too...something. I guess I've grown attatched to the clunky UI of livejournal, but this isn't quite how I want to do fandom, you know?
